Parkway Central’s annual fair is the second weekend in November with proceeds going to a fine cause– to help fund trips, uniforms, musical instruments, buses, and color guard equipment for the school’s outstanding band–and to showcase local artists and crafters–and even local authors.
The PC fair is always marvelously well-attended.

Join the St. Louis Writers Guild from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. CDST on Saturday, July 13, 2024, for a free networking event with some of our area’s many writing support organizations and independent bookstores.
Our presenters will include Main Street Books of St. Charles, Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, Sisters in Crime, and many more. We will gather at The Lodge Des Peres, 1050 Des Peres Rd., St. Louis, MO, 63131. From discovering the perfect support group for your own writing projects to learning how to arrange a book signing or consignment plan, the July program will have something for everyone.
Join us for a morning of networking and information sharing. Each of our guests will have a booth from which to speak to attendees individually. Peter H. Green — Writer, Architect and City Planner A career architect and city planner. Peter found his father’s 400 World War II letters, his humorous war stories, his mother’s writings and their family’s often hilarious doings too good a tale to keep to himself, so he launched a second career as a writer. His first book recounted the hilarious antics and serious achievements of his dad’s Word War II adventure, Ben’s War with the U.S. Marines, Greenskills Press, 2014. His first novel, Crimes of Design, a Patrick MacKenna mystery, Fatal Designs (2014).and a third, Chicago’s Designs, (2021). He has published three architectural mysteries in his Patrick MacKenna mystery-thriller series and three biographical memoirs of the era, World War II to the present, including his latest, Becoming an Architect: My Voyage of Discovery (2022).
